About me

My career background is rooted in the civil infrastructure design field. After completing my Associate of Technical Arts degree in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design I continued on to earn Bachelors's degree in Sustainable Design. I am currently an Assistant Design Engineer for Thurston County, Washington's Public Works department.

Since 2015 I have pursued the adoption and use of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) technology for the department. I have also developed a large interest in using UAS as an artistic and visual communication tool for my own business pursuits. Projects that I have been involved with include:

  • real estate marketing photos,

  • promotional content for businesses,

  • video content for infrastructure projects,

  • infrastructure visualization projects,

  • large mapping projects (orthomosaic, 3d mesh and point cloud creation),

  • reconnaissance missions for environmental planning,

  • construction site documentation (before, during and after construction),

  • wedding photography,

  • artistic and travel photography, and

  • just flying for the fun of it!

Having been a recreational scuba diver for 20 years, I also became interested in the use of underwater remotely operated vehicles (ROV). This has been a very interesting pursuit and I believe it shows the potential for benefits in many areas. To date, I have used the OpenROV Trident for marine science education, marine life exploration, and underwater video inspection pursuits.

I see that the uses of this powerful technology will only continue to grow and become as essential to many industries as cell phones have become today! This is only the beginning and we live in exciting times. I look forward to helping you with your own exciting project!
